Here are some videos that are used to learn more about how cancer
truly affects a child's (and their families) life:
Children's Cancer Research Fund all started because of the dream of a child. Leaps and bounds have been made since 1981, but more still has to be done.
Zach Sobiech is an 18 year old from Minnesota who lost his battle with Osteosarcoma in May of 2013. He wrote this song to say goodbye to his family and friends. You can download his song at www.childrenscancer.org/zach, all of the proceeds from the song go towards cancer research! You can also watch "Clouds": the movie based on Zach's true story starting October 16, 2020 on Disney+.
On December 5, 2013 Zach's Legacy continued as the Largest "Clouds" Choir made up of 5,000 singers filled the Rotunda at the Mall of America
This amazing video was made at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital. It is another great example of how brave these children have to be in order to survive their battle!!
This video (which was made by a childhood cancer patient) went viral on youtube. It is a glimpse of what these children and their family's go through, and the fighting spirit that these kids have. Your spirit is everything when battling cancer, because "if you're bitter......you'll NEVER get better!!
These heartwarming peanuts videos created in 1990 are a great way to teach children, and their siblings what a cancer diagnosis means. Families often struggle with how to explain to a child what cancer is. This is just one way to help parents during such a difficult time.
