Danielle is 31 years old and is a 2007 graduate of Monticello High School. Although she got a rough start in life, "my cancer battle has helped shape who I have become, but does not define who I am" Danielle states when asked about her cancer journey. Ever since the age of four she has never been far from a dance studio. She was a member of the Be a Star Performance Team for nine years, and performed in places such as Disney World, Universal Studios, and several Royal Caribbean cruises. She and the performance team took the Minnesota State Fair's top talent show honor in 2002 by beating out hundreds of acts from around the great state of Minnesota to become the State Champions.
Danielle also enjoys singing. She was a member of choir all throughout high school, and was even a member of the Mississippi 8 conference Honors choir her senior year. She is also very active in her Church's music program. In 2009 Danielle was elected as her Church's new choir director, and is a member of the Faith Lutheran Quartet singing group. She is a graduate of St. Cloud Technical and Community College, where she graduated with a double major in Child and Adult Care and Education (CACE) and PARA professional educator programs. She has also made the President's and Dean's Lists, and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa International Honors Society. She has completed two internships, the first of which was in the toddler room at a local daycare center, where she helped take care of 10 toddlers (ages 16-33 months) everyday. Her second internship was in the recreational department at the St. Benedict's Senior Community in Monticello. Danielle was also very honored to be elected as the CACE and PARA club President for the 2012/ 2013 school year, and was very excited to discover all of the opportunities that this position had in store for her. She also volunteers as an assistant at Barbara Lee's Studio of Dance. Danielle was also an aerobics instructor for Monticello Community Education, where she had the opportunity to help local women find true fun and happiness in exercising and leading a healthier lifestyle. Currently she is the new assistant coach for a local Cheer-leading program.
When she's not working, Danielle is very busy volunteering. She is always helping her platform Children's Cancer Research Fund spread awareness about the lack of funding that Childhood cancer receives. Danielle is an official spokesperson for her platform, she goes out and tells her story of survival to help raise money for childhood cancer research. In fact Danielle's platform asked her to be a "featured kid" during the 12th Annual KS-95 for Kids Radiothon. She has held three hat drives for the children at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital, Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, and the Ronald McDonald House. She was ecstatic that she collected over 500 hats during those drives. To see her pictures from the deliveries of the hats, please visit her "photos" page. You can also find Danielle volunteering for the Wright County Agricultural Society every year. Danielle grew up going to the Wright County Fair as a visitor, exhibitor, and royal ambassador, and now she enjoys giving back to an organization that has given so many great memories to her.
There is one more thing that you should know about Danielle....she is a HUGE Minnesota Vikings Fan!!!!! You will find Danielle and her dogs Lulu, and Cecelia in their "purple gear" every game day during the pre, regular, and post season. Danielle has an amazing support system with her immediate family, which includes her Mom Dawn, Brother Josh, Grandmother Gloria, Uncle David, Cousin Taylor, and their four legged "kids" Zamiel and Zenzi. They were all there for Danielle during her battle with cancer, and are here to support her now in her journey as a Global United Elite Lifetime Queen.
